We can take the child's used toothbrush and a buccal swab from the father by performing a toothbrush DNA paternity or a toothbrush DNA test a to determine paternity. It is very important to keep in mind that this type of testing is not as fully accurate as the standards paternity test which is using a buccal swab to get DNA samples from the cheek. If the toothbrush has viable amount of DNA, it can help in determining paternity. It is also important to note that this is for informational purposes and not for legal reasons. We can come to you or meet at a secured location for your to drop off the toothbrush and do a mouth swab of the child. /or you can come to our office. Make sure you do not store the toothbrush in a plastic bag.
This test can also be for testing the alleged father, especially if he does not want to participate. This is not a court-admissible test, and there are no guarantees that there will be enough viable DNA to extract from a toothbrush. But this test may give you the answers you need. We suggest that if the test comes back inconclusive or proves or disproves the alleged father's relationship to the child, you should always follow up with a standard paternity DNA test.
